Born and raised in Glyndon, Minn., Chuck grew up with an interest in numbers. He graduated from Concordia College (Moorhead), attended grad school, and became one of the youngest fellows in the Society of Actuaries. A strong desire to work directly with people led Chuck to use his skills as a life insurance sales representative, a career he pursued until retirement.
Chuck was an actor and ardent supporter of community theater. He held leading roles in many performances both while making his home in Appleton, Wisc., and then in Detroit Lakes. Chuck also enjoyed golf, traveling, life at the lake, and his grandchildren. And he loved to sing — anywhere, anytime, and for anyone!
Chuck was inquisitive. He loved to meet new people and visit new places. An avid Detroit Lakes Lions club member, Chuck accompanied his Lions club on a mission to Mazatlan to distribute eyeglasses to those in need. He strove to fulfill the Lions Clubs International motto, “We Serve.”
In his life, Chuck simply wanted to help others, and he was committed to being an eye donor after his death.
