Lions Gift of Sight works with many different organizations to make possible eye donation in our service area.

Eye Bank Association of America
The Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) is a not-for-profit organization of eye banks dedicated to the restoration of sight through the promotion and advancement of eye banking. The oldest transplant association in the United States, the EBAA is a nationally recognized accrediting body for eye banks. The EBAA was the first donation organization to create medical standards for donation. It was also the first to create and implement inspection and accreditation processes for donation organizations. The Lions Gift of Sight is a charter member of the EBAA and holds its highest accreditation.

Lions Club Members
Lions Clubs International is the largest service organization in the world, with more than 1.3 million members in more than 210 countries and regions. The Lions motto is “We Serve” and Lions service starts in the local community and extends to the state, the nation, and the world.

The Lions’ dedication to helping the visually-impaired and blind is nearly a century old. In 1925, when Lions International was in its infancy, the legendary Helen Keller spoke to members at their annual convention. She challenged them to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.” That speech set the Lions’ course as stewards of vision research, treatments, and cures.
